My family asked me to list five things I'm thankful for. Here are some of them:

I'm thankful for a sweet, understanding wife who keeps me on track.

I'm thankful for four wonderful children, and a son and daughter-in-law who make life worth while. Their challenges give opportunities to grow outside myself.

I'm thankful for three grandchildren who make life exciting. Watching them grow and develop new skills is a blessing beyond measure.

I'm thankful for a great valley to live in with scenic views from every window.

I'm thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ which gives purpose for everything.

I'm Thankful for...

Okay goes!!

  1. First and foremost is my family. I have a tremendously deep love for each and every one of them and I hope that they all know that! Including son-in-law and daughter-in-law

  2. I'm so thankful for the grandkids that I have! I just wish I could be with all of them more often.

  3. Even though it doesn't seem like it sometimes, I am thankful for my hubby Joe. I do love him very much and I'm grateful for everything he does for me!

  4. I'm thankful for the gospel in my life and without it, I know my life wouldn't be like it is now. I'm happy the way things are!

  5. I am very grateful for the new business opportunity that Joe and I are pursuing. I know that it will get us out of debt and then Joe and I can give to those in our family who are in need of financial help. It would also give us more time to visit with those that are farther away.

I could go on and on because I have so many things that I'm thankful for, but Kami said 5 things!!

Fall Leaves

It was such a nice afternoon when Carlee and I arrived at my house. The leaves on the ground were so irresistible and we had to go and rack them, scoop them and stomp on them. Carlee had a great time with the leaves!

The Leaves

The leaves had a wonderful frolic.
They danced to the wind's loud song.
They whirled, and they floated, and scampered.
They circled and flew along.

The moon saw the little leaves dancing.
Each looked like a small brown bird.
The man in the moon smiled and listened.
And this is the song he heard.

The North Wind is calling, is calling,
And we must whirl round and round,
And then, when our dancing is ended,
We'll make a warm quilt for the ground.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn leaves tumble down,
Autumn leaves crumble down,
Autumn leaves bumble down,
Flaking and shaking,
Tumbledown leaves.

Rustle by
Hustle by
Crackle and crunch
In a snappety bunch.

Run and catch
Run and catch
Butterfly leaves
Sailboat leaves
Windstorm leaves.
Can you catch them?

Pile them up
In a stompy pile and
Eve Merriam

Father's Song

When I was not more than a tadpole, of three,
My father used to sing a song for me.
It went something like this—
I lost my arm in the Army
Lost my leg in the Navy,
Lost my nose—
In the dirty clothes,
And found them
In the gravy.
My head would begin to wobble,
My shoulders would start to weave,
Soon I would giggle, as he grinned at me.
When I was not more than a tadpole, of three.
At fifty-three, I now sing this song
To my son of nearly three,
And laugh hard and long,
As, my little guy
Wobbles, weaves, and
Giggles with me.
Though my father is now long gone,
My heart does not grieve.
As his memory still lives on
In the stories I weave,
And a silly song
He once sang.
When I was not more than a tadpole, of three.

Idaho and Spuds. Need I say more?

My mom was gracious enough to come with me to Blackfoot, ID while I got my car fixed. We did our typical Walmart shopping and checked out the $ store.

Then we had to try the new Jr. Banana Splits at Sonic. They were very yummy and very tiny. Perfect snack size. When we got done with everything we were going to do my car still wasn't done. So what else is there to do in Blackfoot? Why check out the world famous potato museum of course!

Now that's a big potato!

We had to check out the gorgeous potato fashions. Hopefully no one outside of the museum is sporting these styles although Marilyn makes a potato sack look good!

There was a lot of spud machinery on display.

I had to take a picture of the horsies for my Carlee.

And the trains for Mr. Collin.

They had a whole cabinet devoted to just potato mashers.

This is the biggest pringle EVER! It wouldn't last long at my house...

Whole lotta spud.

Very colorful spuds. Collin thought these were weird.

Mom's new potato bud.

I was going to take a bite out of him but thought better of it.

Collin was looking at these pictures while I was downloading them and now he wants to go see the huge potato out front!
